During the 5th century AD, the Hunas from Gandhara (present-day Afghanistan) set their sights on the wealthy kingdoms of India. Toramana, the Huna leader, and later his son, Mihirakula, were determined to conquer the prosperous kingdom of Magadha. However, they faced a formidable opponent in its ruler, Narasimha Gupta Baladitya. When the Hunas also targeted Malwa, King Yashodharma valiantly defended his kingdom and repelled their advances. These fierce battles between the Hunas and the Indian rulers left a significant mark on the history of the region.
