The seventh queen of the Bengal king, who had been childless for a long time, gave birth to twins—a boy and a girl—just as the court astrologer predicted. The baby boy bore a crescent moon on his forehead and stars on his palm. However, the jealous elder queen, along with the six other queens, plotted to kill the children with the help of an evil sorceress, Vayatati. Fortunately, the twins were rescued and raised by a kind family.
The boy, named Laladachandra for the crescent moon on his forehead, grew up to become a brave and noble young man. In a daring adventure, Laladachandra rescues Princess Pushpavati from the clutches of terrifying Rakshasas.
Based on a beloved folktale from Bengal, Lalatchandra is a story that has captivated generations with its timeless themes of courage and destiny.
