Motivated by Guru Gobind Singh, Banda Bahadur spearheaded the Sikh uprising against the Mughal Empire. Over eight years, he waged a relentless campaign across North India, causing widespread disruption in the Indo-Gangetic plain. His efforts were so devastating that the Mughals struggled to reestablish their control. Subsequent invasions by the Persian ruler Nadir Shah and the Afghan leader Ahmad Shah Abdali further accelerated the empire's decline. This period of instability allowed the Sikhs to rise as the dominant power in Punjab, with Banda Bahadur laying the groundwork for the eventual establishment of the Sikh Kingdom.
