The first 10 books focus on one of the five short vowel sounds - a as in cat.
The next 5 books focus on one of the most common sounds, the digraph sh as in shark, double letter long vowel sound - ee as in sheep, Y at the end of a word as in baby, the digraph ch as in chip, double letter long vowel sounds - oo as in cook.
The remaining 15 books focus on blends - L blends - cl as in clem and gl as in glum, R blends used at the beginning of words - cr as in crab and tr as in truck, ing sound - ing as in sting and buzzing, Nk end blends - nk as in Frank and Drink, R blends used at the beginning of words - fr as in frog and gr as in grubs,le as an end sound - le as in tumble and wobble, tch blend at the end of words, L blends - sl as in slippery and bl as in black, sp blends - sp as in sparrow and spot, st blend - st as in story and stars, est sound - as in chest and vest, ing and ell - ing as in banging and ell as in bell.
