Gate to Kagoshima

In the throes of heartbreak, she grappled with the impossible task of letting him go. In 2005, Isla's journey to uncover her Japanese roots leads her from Scotland to Kagoshima. There, amid a fierce typhoon and an eerie white gate in an abandoned shrine, Isla is thrust back to 1877, into the heart of the Satsuma Rebellion that marked the twilight of the samurai era.

In this tumultuous past, Isla encounters Keiichirō Maeda, a samurai whose gaze holds promises of a world she had only imagined in books. Immersed in a life she never thought possible, Isla finds herself questioning if this ancient time is where she truly belongs. Yet, as the samurai prepare for a battle she knows will end in tragedy, Isla wrestles with a devastating dilemma: should she reveal the grim future to the man she loves, or let Keiichirō face his fate with the honor he cherishes, despite the impending loss of everything he holds dear?

As history unfolds and the sands of time slip away, Isla wonders if she will ever find her way back to her modern life in the Scottish Highlands. Only time itself holds the answer to her fate intertwined with Keiichirō and the samurai legacy.
