Darby Lane and Russell Gunn were lifelong friends, growing up together in the Horseshoe neighborhood of Baton Rouge. However, after Russ's untimely death in graduate school, Darby's world falls apart. In her journey to healing, she finds solace in Russ's brother Ben. As their relationship grows, Darby also faces the challenge of reuniting Ben with his estranged father, with the help of her aunts who raised her. Through twists and turns, Darby learns that even in loss, new beginnings and love can prevail.
