In the tenth book of the Nancy Drew Diaries, a fresh twist on a classic mystery series, River Heights becomes the backdrop for a film being made, and the set is plagued by sabotage.
Alex Burgess, Nancy's former paralegal to Carson Drew, is producing a movie, and the shoot is taking place in River Heights. On the first day of filming, Alex invites Nancy, Bess, and George to the set for a behind-the-scenes glimpse. George is thrilled to see the cameras and special effects up close, while Bess hopes to catch a glimpse of the leading man, Brian Newsome.
However, just before filming begins, an explosion rocks the catering area, caused by firecrackers in the coffee maker. Shortly afterward, Brian's costume is found stained with blood. Furthermore, threatening messages appear on the scripts, warning the crew to shut down the production or face the consequences.
Can Nancy uncover the identity of the set saboteur before the film's final dangerous scene? Or will the entire production go up in smoke before the mystery is solved?
