Nancy awoke with a strange sensation and looked about the room. Bess' bed was empty. Thoroughly alarmed, she ran to the open window. A cry of horror escaped her as she gazed downwards. Bess, apparently walking in her sleep, stood on a narrow slab of concrete beside a window ledge. But Bess was poised far out of reach. Nancy could not follow wiithout risking her own life.
