A glass eye, a fake suicide, and one very real murder.
When wealthy businessman Hartley Bassett is found dead beside a typewritten suicide note and three guns, it looks like an open-and-shut case. But to Perry Mason, it’s evidence overkill. Something doesn’t add up.
Bassett’s life was full of enemies—an unhappy wife, a resentful stepson, an indebted embezzler, and a man with a glass eye who hired Mason just before his “eye” turned up in the dead man’s hand.
Now, with Della Street and Paul Drake at his side, Mason must unravel a tangle of deceit, greed, and betrayal to reveal the truth behind the counterfeit clues—and catch a killer hiding in plain sight.
