Little Balai had a great affinity for plants. He couldn't bear to see people cut plants or pluck flowers from them. Balai who grew up under the care of his uncle and aunt, nurtured a silk cotton sapling with love and care till it grew into a big tree. Even when it had grown wildly, he wouldn't let his uncle chop the tree. What happens to the beloved tree when Balai is taken away by his father for a better education?
