Rabindranath Tagore The Holidays

Phatik, a fun loving adolescent, moves from the village to the city. Away from family and familiar surroundings, Phatik feels ill at ease in his uncle's house in Kolkata where there is no one to care for him. He misses the carefree days in the village and yearns for the love of his mother. Unable to tolerate the harshness of his aunt and the humiliation at school, Phatik waits anxiously for the holidays to go back home.
