Skanda Part 1 : Blood In The Water

Skanda Part 1: Blood in the Water by Pon Kaushikan is a historical fantasy that combines Tamil mythology, time travel, political intrigue, and epic adventure across two connected timelines. Set partly in the ancient Pandiyan port city of Korkai and partly in 2023, the novel follows King Skanda and a grieving young man named Velan as their lives become linked through forgotten gods, prophecy, and forces reaching across centuries.

In Korkai, Skanda faces political deceit, crushing taxes, growing unrest, and the rise of the fanatical Shivanadiyargal cult. In the modern timeline, Velan's encounter with a mysterious flash of light begins to reveal a connection to ancient powers and a destiny he could never have imagined.

About This Book

Korkai is the spiritual heart of the Pandiyan regime, a pearl-rich port city where ancestral elemental worship and devotion to the sea are deeply rooted in its culture. King Skanda struggles to protect this world as political instability and social unrest threaten the kingdom.

Standing beside Skanda is the fearless Valli, as the two confront the Shivanadiyargal, a cult determined to reshape the land through violence and fanaticism. Their struggle becomes increasingly complicated as older and more mysterious forces begin to emerge.

Centuries later, Velan's mysterious experience in 2023 sets him on a path towards forgotten gods, hidden prophecies, and an ancient connection. As the two timelines converge, Skanda and Velan become bound by fate, blood, and prophecy in a conflict that connects the future with the secrets of the past.
