The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping – Movie Tie-In Edition

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins is the fifth novel in the bestselling Hunger Games series and tells the story of Haymitch Abernathy during the Fiftieth Hunger Games.

On the morning of the second Quarter Quell, the districts of Panem face a terrifying new rule: twice as many tributes will be selected. When Haymitch's name is called, his hopes for a quiet life with the girl he loves are shattered, sending him into an arena where survival comes at an extraordinary cost.

About This Book

In District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying to focus on the people and life he cares about. But the fiftieth Hunger Games changes everything. As part of the Quarter Quell, twice the usual number of tributes are chosen from each district.

Haymitch is taken to the Capitol alongside three other District 12 tributes: a close young friend, a compulsive odds-maker and a girl known for her difficult personality. Once the Games begin, Haymitch realises that the odds have been deliberately stacked against him.

Forced to confront the brutality of the arena, Haymitch discovers a reason to fight that reaches beyond simple survival. His choices will have consequences far beyond the Games themselves.
