This series focusses on all the major aspects of letter sound relationships. It deals with the 40+ sounds of English, besides the alphabet sounds. There are initial and final consonant sounds, short and long vowel sounds, blends and digraphs. Through games and activities children are provided with ample opportunities to become familiar with common letter patterns. At the same time, they can practise writing these patterns in a well formed style. The children first look at the familiar letter patterns before they write them. Rainbow writing in which the letter is traced over in 4 different colours helps to reinforce the words/letters as units of sound. Tracking exercises help to improve eye hand coordination as the children keep the pencil on the paper while they track from left to right along a line. They will loop particular letters/words as they come to them. These are embedded between carefully chosen distractors. Each book supports the work done in the previous book.
